An interesting biography of Einstein in an easy readable manner. I don't believe elementary age children would want to read all his personal life dilemnas but more appropriate for middle school children and up.
OK book.
This is a terrible introduction to Einstein's life and thought, full of errors which would be funny if they weren't so painful. A selection:* p.10: refers to the Torah as "the first 5 books of Moses". First 5?* p.13: refers to the Pythagorean Theorem as a "theory", and then "the most fundamental theorem in mathematics". No one with any exposure to mathematics could have written this.* p.44: "Mileva continued to help Einstein with the mathematical aspects of his theories." Nope. See, for example, the Wikipedia entry on Mileva Maric.* p.52: explains mass as "how much space that object takes up". Ouch.* p.52: "Mass approaching the speed of light becomes equivalent to energy, and energy slowed down becomes massive." So confused, one does not even know where to start.I could go on, but that's as far as my 12-year-old daughter got in the book before she asked me to look at it, to clarify some points which did not make sense.It's too bad, since the Sterling Biographies series is generally good. But this particular volume is so inaccurate that a student would be better off knowing nothing of Einstein than reading this.
